“Defy the Dark Lord of Boredom” – Stephen Gashler (and some of his puppet friends) will be touring libraries and schools, talking about his new middle grade fantasy novel The Bent Sword. Following themes of his book, he encourages children to turn off the TV, unlock their imaginations, and find the adventure that’s all around them. He also offers question and answer sessions for aspiring, young authors.

Spring 2011

“Adventures in Space” – this show invites the children to suspend their disbelief and makebelieve with us that we’re on an imaginative journey through the cosmos, where we explore uncharted regions, meet all sorts of strange, new life forms, and have astronomic fun.

Summer 2011

“One World, Many Stories” – conforming with the theme of Utah’s Summer Reading Program, we brush up our best foreign accents and explore folktales from around the world through puppet shows, music, and storytelling, adding a few wacky twists of our own.

Fall 2011

“Mixed Up Fairy Tales” – a collection of hilarious reinterpretations of the classics, such as the “The Modest Mermaid,” and “The Tragedy of Mr. Bobsworth” – the tale of an unfortunate salesman who finds himself in all the wrong places at all the wrong times, being mistaken for the troll from the Billy Goats Gruff, the wolf from the Three Little Pigs, and the beast from Beauty and the Beast. Though the goats, the pigs, and the villagers are all out to get him, all Mr. Bobsworth really wants it to sell them some lemonade.

Christmas 2011

“Hairy Scary Christmas” – Christmas with monsters is not as meek and mild as it probably should be, but it sure is a lot of fun (this show is not really that scary and is fine for a family audience).

Winter 2012

“Author Tour” – Stephen Gashler will be conducting another author tour at schools and libraries.

We’re offering a seasonal children’s puppetry workshop, in which children will learn from professional puppeteers, make their own puppets, watch guest performers, create their own shows and perform in the park for friends and family.
